    Description

    The AquaSonic

    "Super Standard" Waterphone is a hand-made, musical instrument that can be used to make other worldly sounds that are sometimes compared to those made by the electronic Theremin or sounds made in nature by dolphins and whales. It has the ability to create a haunting atmosphere that has been used to depict that of outer space and can create a sense of tension and surprise. The atonal quality of the AquaSonic

    Waterphone makes it very easy to play by anyone. It is perfect for developing one's sense of improvisation and is used very effectivly in the practice of Music Therapy.
    * Diameter: 8.25"
    * Height:  14"
    The AquaSonic

    Waterphone is played by bowing or using fingers, mallets or whatever one can come up with on the bronze tines and resonating chamber to create the unique sounds the instrument is capable of. A small amount of water is added to the resonating chamber that will allow the player to "bend" the tones being produced by manipulating the angle the waterphone is held at. The bottom surface of the resonating chamber can be effectively used as a frame drum for light finger drumming.Constructed of bronze and stainless steel using the high temperature brazing process insures durability and long life of The AquaSonic

    Waterphone. The hand crafted beauty of the AquaSonic

    Waterphone
    inspires many to consider it a sculptural work of art. AquaSonic

    Waterphones have been used in numerous Broadway productions as well as symphony orchestras, movie-production and recording studios, musicians and composers in all styles of music. Check out the cd Lake of Light: Compositions for AquaSonics, by internationally acclaimed  artist William Parker.
