The development of the new PLANTEX high-tech compound has resulted in the production of the first flap discs in the world with a backing plate made of natural hemp, with polypropylene used to bind it. In addition to excellent material abrasion and a long service life, the discs offer maximum operator safety, protection of natural resources and environmental friendliness. The fiber substrate of the PLANTEX high-tech compound gives it absorbent, spring-like properties that enhance grinding performance. This flexibility provides a greater surface area with the work piece (more grit is used) that results in higher material removal. The larger surface area also dissipates more heat, making the grinding work cooler – the work piece does not suffer smearing and the abrasive fabric does not burn. Grinding down to the last fraction of an inch; The backing plate used on PLANTEX flap discs reduces in diameter automatically during grinding.
