Offered is this elegant set of Tuscan Fine English Bone China, made in England. This is an all-over gold chintz pattern of foliage on a pastel pink background. Tiny painted pink rosebuds are interspersed in the gold design. Pastel pink decorates the inside and outside of the cups and the tops and bottoms of the plates and saucers. Heavy gilding decorates the foot, handle, outside and inside rim of the cups. Gold trim also decorates the gently scalloped rim of the plates and saucers.
These plates have a backstamp that was in use from 1947 to 1966 and was acquired by our family prior to 1958. If I did not have my own china, it is a set that would be proud to keep and love to use! This set deserves to be used and enjoyed, not merely stored in a cabinet. All the luncheon plates and two cups/saucers have green backstamps, one says DuBarry Rose. All of the other items in the set have a gold backstamp.
In this magnificent set you will receive,
10 Luncheon Plates (8 1/2") 8 Dessert Plates (7") 10 Footed Cups (2 3/4" x 3 1/2") & 10 Saucers (5 1/2") 1 Large Square Serving Plate (9") 1 Covered Tea Pot ( 6 1/2" tall, 9" from spout to handle) 1 Open Sugar Bowl (2 3/4" tall, 5 1/4" across) 1 Creamer (4 1/2" tall, 5" from spout to handle) I think that service of 4 was most likely used just a few times at most, due to the tiny surface scratches that I see. I examined each piece with a magnifying glass and the surface scratches are seen on 4 luncheon, 4 dessert and 1 saucer. The accompanying pieces are perfect but for a smudge of pink at the bottom of the spout on the tea pot. There are no chips, cracks and no crazing. Please examine the final photos for examples of the tiny defects. The set is not packed up so that I can send more pictures if requested.
